In early April the Phi Phi chapter completed another successful Derby Days event.  The weeklong event had its largest participation in recent years with fifteen teams and almost 200 competitors.  The annual event was a great way to kick off the Spring by celebrating the initiation of 17 new members as well as raising money for a great cause.  Once again we are raising money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

The institution was founded in 1995 by Phi Phi alumni Jon M. Huntsman '59 after he twice beat the disease.  This year's event consisted of many competitions between teams including a sumo wrestling tournament and a karaoke challenge.

The week culminated in a celebratory party on the volleyball court where the defending champions from last year, "Derby Dynasty", composed of members of the Women's Soccer team, once again took home the title and a bar tab to Smokey Joe's Tavern. The donation period is still ongoing and if you would like to contribute please contact Philanthropy Chairman This email address is being protected from spambots.
